Why We Were Formed

A number of talented and patriotic Veteran entrepreneurs from the Delaware Valley joined forces to help solve a common dilemma. The challenge that the group faced was that as small Veteran owned businesses, they found it difficult to procure local private industry and public agency contracts.

Even though a number of public laws were passed to help Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses meet federally mandated compliance and set aside goals, these targets were not being met. As Veterans, we wanted to provide a solution.

Our group also found that even though procurement managers and general contractors had a desire to do business with Veteran owned businesses, they simply could not find us. Being creative Veterans trained in overcoming adversity, we banded together to form the Veteran Owners Business Alliance.

The group had five key guiding principles in mind:

  1. Economic Development and job creation through Veteran owned businesses
  2. Veterans helping Veterans
  3. Creating a central organization and website portal for procurement managers and general contractors in the private and public sector to find qualified Veteran and Service Disabled Owned Business partners.
  4. On-going education via our Veteran Educational boot camp programs
  5. Veteran Support Services via our internship and mentoring programs especially geared towards Veterans transitioning from the Service to the Civilian World
